Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival 2022 | Antalya Film Forum

The Antalya Film Forum was created to support the development of Turkish films and create opportunities for co-productions. The forum is co-directed by Armağan Lale and Pınar Evrenosoğlu and ran from October 2-6.

There are 5 categories that can be entered for consideration. Being selected for any of them, provides the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with industry professionals. The categories themselves have a competitive level with funding awards to be won.

This year 27 projects were selected to compete in the 5 categories, with 15 of them receiving funding and support.

Nine projects competed in the β€œPitching for Feature Films in Development” platform, juried by Antonio Saura,Β Selin Vatansever TezcanΒ andΒ Teresa Hoefert de TurΓ©gano. Of the 9 projects, they selected β€œThe Ballad of the Skelton” from director Murat Uğurlu| and producer BΓΌke Akşehirli, and β€œThe Moth” from director AslΔ± Akdağ and producer Bilal BağcΔ± for Development Platform Awards. Additionally, Knight Rider 3: Blue Ocean from director Ziya Demirel and producer Anna Maria Aslanoğlu was given the Film StandartlarΔ± Post Production Award, and 8thΒ Floor from director TunΓ§ Şahin and producers AslΔ± Filiz & Ersan Γ‡ongar was given the Filmarka Equipment Support Award.

Five projects competed in β€œFeatures Work-in-Progress” platform. Unlike the development category, this one is for projects that are about to finish shooting or already in post-production. The platform was juried by Anna Hoffmann,Β Dilek AydΔ±nΒ andΒ Nathalie Jeung. They selected β€œDominitory” from director Nehir Tuna and producer Tanay Abbasoğlu & Dorothe Beinemeier for the Features Work-in-Progress Award. Additionally, the Special Jury prize went to β€œNew Dawn Fades” from director GΓΌrcan Keltek and producer Arda Γ‡iltepe, while the Başka Sinema Distribution and Promotion Award went to β€œHesitation Wound” from director Selman Nacar and producers Burak Γ‡evik &Diloy GΓΌlΓΌn. Finally, Turkish Radio and Televison (TRT) gave their own Features Work-in Progress Award, presented by Faruk GΓΌven, the Head of Cinema at TRT, to β€œConfrontation” from director Filiz Kuka and producers SeΓ§kin AkyΔ±ldΔ±z & Filiz Kuka.

In the β€œDocumentaries Work-in Progress” platform, juried by AurΓ©lien Marsais, Charlotte Reekers and Zeynep GΓΌzel β€œA Simple Place” directed by Etna Γ–zbek andΒ produced byΒ Burak Karamete, andΒ β€œElsewhere” directed and produced byΒ Melis BirderΒ withΒ Nesra GΓΌrbΓΌzΒ also producing both won the Documentaries Work-in-Progress Award. β€œA Simple Place” was also was selected for the Başka Sinema Distribution Award while β€œElsewhere” received the PostbΔ±yΔ±k Sound Post Production Award. Additionally, β€œ61 Minutes in Trapped Zone” from director Canberk Emre Δ°pekΒ and producers Merve Tohum & Alican Acar was given the Documentary Association of Europe Encouragement Award, while β€œHold Still”, directed by Berke Baş and produced by Enis KΓΆstepen was awarded the Film StandartlarΔ± Color Grading Award.

Of the five projects selected for the β€œSeries / Short Series Pitching” platformΒ juried by Julia Schulte,Β Leticia GodinhoΒ andΒ YamaΓ§ Okur, β€œHalf-Life” from creators Tilbe Cana Δ°nanΒ andΒ Kubilay KaraΒ and producersΒ Yelin McKayΒ was selected for the Netflix Grow Creative Project Development Support. Additionally, β€œZek the Flatmate” from creators ErinΓ§ DurlanΔ±k and Yusuf Onur AydΔ±n, director by ErinΓ§ DurlanΔ±k and producers Ceren Γ–zkanlΔ± SamlΔ± and Elif Nur Kayalar, received the Color Up Color Grading Award.

The finally category is a new one. A memorial fund in memory of the Turkish actor, SΓΌmer TilmaΓ§ to encourage film making in Antalya. Three projects competed in the β€œSΓΌmer TilmaΓ§ Antalya Film Support Fund Pitching” platform juried by Deniz AkΓ§ay,Β Uygar ŞirinΒ andΒ Zeynep Koray. β€œRabid” from writer/director Abdurrahman Γ–ner and Arzu Şenses Γ–ner was selected for the SΓΌmer TilmaΓ§ Antalya Film Support Fund Award.
